First Visit

At your first visit, a complete orthodontic examination is carried out. If treatment is indicated a set of orthodontic records is required which includes plaster models of your teeth, facial and dental photographs. You will also be referred for orthodontic x-rays as necessary.
Based on the findings of the examination of the patient and study of the orthodontic records, a treatment plan is prepared. A discussion appointment will be made so that this plan may be discussed, questions answered and financial arrangements made.
If it is agreed to proceed with the treatment plan, the patient must have a complete examination by their dentist and any work indicated completed prior to starting orthodontic treatment. At this stage any extractions, if indicated, can be carried out. It is important that the patient maintain their normal periodic “check-ups” with their dentist especially during the period of orthodontic treatment.
